Manly Daily: Director scoops honour

Lindsay Rogers is already a mover and shaker. The 27-year-old won Telstra's NSW Young Business Woman of the Year award last week. Ms Rogers co-founded creative content agency Chello with Tristan Velasco in July 2014. The Redfern-based business has more than 40 clients and nine staff.

"I didn't think the business would take off so fast, but it is a changing industry and everyone needs content," Ms Rogers said.

Seventy percent of business was video and the remainder was design and branding, Ms Rogers said. Chello's clients include Stockland, Westpac and Australian Catholic University.

The business director impressed the judging panel with her business plans. "I was short-listed from 25 applications and there were six finalists for the award," she said. "At the panel interview I was asked about my role, leadership and sustainability for the future."

The graduate from Charles Sturt University, Bathurst, came to Australia as a schoolgirl. She moved to Forestville in 2002 and attended Oxford Falls Grammar School from years 9 to 12.

Ms Rogers and the NSW finalists will take on Australia's best business women at the national awards in Melbourne on November 18.
