Convincing more people to watch the ABC

A little on the nose don’t you think Gruen production team? Providing the ABC with a free brand campaign aside, our return to Gruen’s The Pitch allowed us to care of a nagging piece of unfinished business. The brief this time? Convince non ABC viewers to watch the ABC. 
Simple as that.

Taking one for the team

We had fun with this one, it’s not often you essentially get a free shot at making an ad. After throwing a few ideas at the wall, one concept rose above the rest.

The insight behind our idea? Traditionally, the ABC has been accused of showing content that’s “too highbrow” – but that’s not a bad thing. We chose to celebrate the amazing selection of shows and documentaries that are raising brows across Australia.

That’s right, we took the reason some people like to beat up on the ABC, and threw it right back in their face. Because if any brand is going to find meaning, it has to start with understanding and embracing its best qualities. No matter what some might say.

Yeah, we’re not gonna lie, that one tastes pretty good. And a clean sweep with the judges too, we even got Todd and Russell to agree on something, how’s that for nailing the brief!
